Responsibilities The Copywriter will be responsible for writing quick, witty, and brand-right copy in both a reactive and proactive manner across assigned digital or social channels. Strong knowledge of pop culture, media trends, social media culture/climate, and SEO. Write sharp, on-brand copy that syncs up closely with current campaigns on a fast-paced, deadline-driven schedule Execute copy in assigned brand voice across digital channels, which may include marketing emails, social accounts, SMS, app, site, and Express Factory Outlet Collaborate with design, social, or merchant partners to concept new ideas, identify trends, and leverage data Understanding of SEO and implementation of SEO best practices in conjunction with the digital team Able to quickly digest and understand brand positioning, seasonal and activation campaigns, and key product priorities, and keep these factors top-of-mind when crafting copy Attend all relevant meetings and touchbases; assist in proofreading routing assets Assist with relevant projects when necessary Required Experience & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, English or similar field 1-3 years of experience A storyteller with a pop culture obsession and love of nomenclature and being in the zeitgeist Mastery of English grammar rules and usage, ability to grasp brand voice and tone, knowledge, and interest in fashion trends and pop culture Critical Skills & Attributes Demonstrate meticulous knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and AP writing styles Deadline-oriented with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Creative, insightful, and interested in fashion and pop culture Excellent interpersonal skills, leading and supporting a team environment Excellent communication-verbal and written Excellent time/project management skills Ability to recognize and react to the demands of an evolving and changing work environment Comfortable and confident effective decisions in a timely manner Goal-oriented with the ability to stay focused on creating winning results High level of conceptual and strategic thinking Strong communication and interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills to influence concept development and execution through creative teams while working collaboratively with other functions of the company A natural curiosity and self-learning approach to keep up with the rapid changes in digital and social media Closing An equal opportunity employer, Express, Inc. does not discriminate in recruiting, hiring or any other terms and conditions of employment hiring on the basis of any federal, state, or locally protected characteristic.
