Corporate Controller of small, growing professional services company - reporting directly to President - Newport Beach - Hybrid!
Our client is a growing professional services firm located in Newport Beach. Due to growth, we have partnered with them to find a Corporate Controller that will report directly to the President.

Position Summary
The Corporate Controller will oversee the financial operations of a dynamic professional services firm specializing in project and construction management. They will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial statements, managing the finance team, treasury function, financial and program KPIs, and providing financial insights to support the company's growth and operational efficiency.
Position Responsibilities Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Withholding Payments (CPP, EI), Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax, Employer Health Tax.Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit/review and liaise with the Board's Audit Committee and the external auditors as necessary.Engage in financial analysis of all financial results, and manage the assets and costs of the company.Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.Oversee the accounting transactions including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate.Manage the treasury function and manage current and future cash flows.Manage and report on the financial and program level KPIs.Collaborate with other department leaders for resource planning and management.Create annual financial plans and budgets. Deliver updated projections on a quarterly basis.Assist the President and the Board of Director's with financial reporting as required at Board meetings and the Annual General Meetings.Required Work Experience and Skills Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or equivalent) preferred but not required.Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance or Equivalent.5+ years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in a professional services firm.Strong leadership skills, experience in managing a team.Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in the use of financial management software.
