Position: Corporate Counsel, Construction
Location: Nashville, Tennessee (in office)
Requirements/Qualifications: Juris Doctorate Degree (Undergraduate degree in engineering or construction preferred);Active law license required (TN state bar licensure is a plus);Minimum of five (5) years as a licensed and practicing attorney;Construction law experience (contracts and litigation);Excellent analytical, multitasking, and problem-solving capabilities;Strong initiative, flexibility, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, both independently and in a team setting;Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and management skills;Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-attorney team members; Job Responsibilities: Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate construction related contracts;Collaborate with project teams to identify risks and mitigate exposure;Assist with development of affirmative claims and defense of claims against the company;Act as internal support to outside counsel on construction related matters (investigation, collection of information, response to litigation related requests, development of case strategy, etc.);Provide legal guidance to corporate leadership on various construction related matters;Provide internal training to project teams on a variety of legal topics;Provide support for the Chief Legal Officer, as needed;
