We are looking for a talented and experienced Corporate Counsel to support Amazon's Core Shopping business, which is responsible for the shopping experiences and systems that enable every customer to discover, evaluate, and select products and services.
You will partner with teams developing customer-facing initiatives that directly impact the shopping experience.
The person serving in this role will provide legal guidance on new feature and product development; advise on complex issues, including privacy and regulatory matters; and counsel on key strategic initiatives.
You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, enjoy working hard, be challenged, and operate in a team-oriented environment.
Key job responsibilitiesSupport business leaders as lead counsel on new product and feature launchesAdvise on complex issues, including privacy and regulatory mattersProvide day-to-day, customer-focused adviceWork effectively across business, department, and cross-functional stakeholdersSome occasional travel requiredBASIC QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of legal experienceJuris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalentExperience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house workExperience with in-house work at a technology or internet companyExperience managing and advising on regulatory inquiries, requests, and complianceExperience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalentAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
