Site Medical Director MindCare Solutions is a leader in comprehensive mental health solutions in various settings: clinician owned and operated. We are seeking a Site Medical Director that is looking for a partnership in a growing organization with a strong team-mentality working in a corrections facility.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Compensation: Based on experience
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the provision of medical services to inmate patients of the assigned facility. Provides overall supervision for clinical services for the site. The Site Medical Director manages primary and consultative services, collaborates with subspecialists, and interfaces with hospital providers to assure timely and appropriate care for inmate patients.
Supervises the Medical Unit in facilitating health care in the facilityProvides direct patient care including the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditionsEvaluates and approves local infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulationsImplements and enforces all policies and procedures pertaining to the facility's mental health services.Keeps patient information confidential and respects patient's right to privacy (HIPAA)Assures the implementation and ongoing supervision of the on-site chronic care clinicsSupervises clinical services provided by the professional and paraprofessional staffProvides emergency treatment on-site and responds appropriately in urgent or emergency situationsMonitors all referrals to outside health care facilities for appropriateness, quality and continuity of careParticipates in the interviewing and hiring of physician and mid-level provider staff for the facilityAll other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Doctor in Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of a US based residency programCurrent, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey (NJ) (required)Maintains an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CertificationMust have an unrestricted and valid prescriptive authority within the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS)At least two years of public health, emergency or family practice experiencePrevious experience in a leadership role, such as Medical Director, strongly preferredAn appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesApplicants must successfully pass the required criminal background checkEmbrace this pivotal moment – become a part of the dynamic force that propels our shared vision forward at MindCare Solutions.
