Job Description Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis:
Conduct regular cost analysis and review of production processes, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Analyze variances between standard costs and actual costs and provide explanations for any discrepancies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with various departments to develop annual budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budgetary performance and provide timely reports on actual vs. budgeted costs.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuation and tracking of inventory costs.
Implement strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs.
Product Costing:
Calculate product costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Assist in setting appropriate pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
Cost Control:
Develop and implement cost control measures, closely monitoring expenses and recommending cost-saving initiatives.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports related to cost accounting, such as cost of goods sold (COGS) and cost analysis reports.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
Support internal and external audit processes related to cost accounting activities.
Process Improvement:
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement within the cost accounting function and contribute to the development of best practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CMA) is a plus.
Proven experience as a cost accountant or in a similar financial analysis role.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and financial modeling.
Knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
