About the role Persona is seeking an attorney to provide support on commercial matters. As Commercial Counsel, you'll have a broad range of responsibilities providing legal guidance on commercial matters. First and foremost, you will be responsible for managing and negotiating complex commercial relationships that contribute to our success, including vendor and sales contracts. Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of relevant state and international privacy laws, including CCPA and GDPR. This role will be located in our San Francisco office and you will be expected to be in the office three times per week.
What you'll do Draft and negotiate commercial agreements involving the company's products and services including vendor and sales agreements.Work directly with the sales team to complete sales negotiations swiftly while still protecting the company.Negotiate vendor agreements, including complex product integration agreements.Draft, update and maintain form agreements.Provide advice to the Post-Sales team regarding customer issues.Provide general support as needed including on non-commercial matters, which may include assisting with drafting internal policies and implementing related processes.What you'll bring to Persona 2 or more years of relevant legal experienceA J.D. and active membership in at least one state barWorking knowledge of state, federal and international privacy laws and regulatory frameworks such as CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, BIPA, GLBA, & FCRAExcellent commercial negotiation and drafting skillsGood judgment and an ability to learn quickly with minimal guidanceFluency translating legal advice into actionable guidance to the business teamsAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage projects effectivelySound and practical business judgment, intellectual creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skillsStrong facility using software apps such as DocuSign, Google Workspace, LinkSquares, MS Office, Notion, Slack, Zoom, etc.Compensation & Equity For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $125,000 - $150,000. Base salaries are just one component of the total compensation package and are determined by a number of factors such as years of experience, expertise, qualifications and more. In addition to base salary, we offer competitive equity packages that play a big part in recognizing you for the huge impact you will have on helping us achieve our mission. Please note, the salary range is a guideline that is subject to change without notice.
