Our Counselor position plays a key role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to our guests through individual and group counseling sessions. This role includes developing psychosocial histories, assessments, personalized treatment plans, and referrals. The Counselor also: Documents treatment progress, orientation, discharge, and other relevant records Delivers educational materials to guests Actively participates in staff training and ongoing performance improvement initiatives Demonstrates age-appropriate care skills for diverse client needs Facilitates Early Recovery Group sessions as assigned Continuously monitors therapy program effectiveness, providing feedback to the Clinical Director This position requires an individual who can work independently with minimal supervision. Minimum Education : Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Human Services field (Associate Degree accepted for hires prior to 2014). Preferred Experience : At least 1 year of experience in chemical dependency treatment. Minimum Licensure/Certification : State Certification (preferred licenses include MSW, LCMHC, LCAS, LCSW-A, LCAS-A, LCMHC-A, or CSAC) CPR and First Aid certification Crisis intervention training, such as NCI+ Key Skills : Strong understanding of addiction treatment principles and practices, with proficiency in individual and group therapy Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities Knowledge of universal precautions and age-specific care Physical ability to lift at least 25 lbs and perform tasks that require hand-eye coordination Ability to sit or stand for extended periods English language proficiency for effective communication This is an opportunity to join a supportive team dedicated to helping individuals in recovery.
