Credit and Collections Specialist $28.00 - $36.00 per hour Benefits Canton, MA The Role We are looking for a Credit and Collections Specialist to support our financial operations.
In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely payments and resolving credit issues for our clients in both public and private contracting.
Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and establish customer credit, including determining limits and payment terms.
Oversee the collection process for public and private contracts.
Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely payment of invoices.
Handle Bond Claims and Mechanic's Liens related to various projects.
Pursue outstanding debts through Small Claims when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of all credit and collection activities.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and legal teams to resolve disputes.
Assist in preparing lien waivers and notices as required.

The Person Proven experience in credit evaluation and collections, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of Bond Claims, Mechanic's Liens, and Small Claims processes.
Familiarity with public and private contracts.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail with strong record-keeping skills.
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous experience in a specialty contractor environment is a plus.
Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws related to credit and collections in construction is preferred.
