Job Summary Price Benowitz, LLP is seeking an experienced full-time Criminal Defense Legal Assistant to support our Virginia team. The position will be based in either Fairfax, VA. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in criminal defense who is looking to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic legal team. The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting attorneys, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Virginia office. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary administrative support for criminal defense attorneys in the Virginia office.Assist in preparing legal documents, case files, and correspondence for criminal cases.Coordinate with attorneys, clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case status and deadlines.Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court appearances, client meetings, and deadlines.Organize, maintain, and update case files and legal databases.Conduct case-related research and assist in the preparation of trial materials as needed.Ensure proper communication and follow-up with clients and other relevant parties.Provide administrative and operational support to the Virginia office as needed.Qualifications and SkillsMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a criminal defense law firm.Strong familiarity with criminal law procedures and case management.Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and meet tight deadlines.Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
