Hours of Work: The position is full-time (approximately 40 hours/week).

Position Summary
The Criminal History Records Associate provides program support for the Division of Law Enforcement Services, Crime Information Bureau (CIB). The Bureau's responsibilities include the management, maintenance, and access to the Wisconsin Centralized Criminal History Database.
The Criminal History Unit is responsible for maintaining Criminal History Record Information (CHRI), including demographic information, arrest and charge information, and related final disposition reports from the District Attorney/Prosecutor, Clerk of Court, municipal court, or correctional agencies. The Criminal History Unit works cooperatively with submitting agencies, courts, and prosecutors to ensure records are corrected when necessary. When an individual would like to challenge information on their record or wish to have their criminal record removed the request is processed by this unit.
The Criminal History Unit also provides public access to CHRI and manages the Wisconsin Online Record Check System (WORCS) website. Anyone may obtain this information from CIB provided they pay any applicable fees established by the legislature. This position provides customer service to agencies and the public that use this service.
Salary Information
The Criminal History Records Associate classification is in pay schedule 02. The pay schedule and range for entry level is 02-10 with an hourly wage of $19.62; the senior level is in pay schedule and range 02-11 with an hourly wage of $21.23. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan. A 12-month probationary period may be required.
Job Details
This position may be eligible to work partially remote after the completion of probation. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement.
The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.
A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection.
Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants must have education, training and/or experience in the following. Conducting research. Providing customer service. Experience using Microsoft office or similar programs to create documents, search databases and enter information in data entry systems.
In addition to the minimum qualifications, a well-qualified applicant will have education, training, and/or experience in the following : Experience applying state and federal laws and regulations as it pertains to your work setting. Providing customer service and account maintenance to online account users. Testing new computer applications or helping to design new applications.
