Cryogenic Physicist

General Description: Be a main contributor toward the development of cryogenic hardware supporting spin qubit devices and testing relevant environmental control requirements.
Essential Duties: Must be able to lead cryogenic design and associated cryogenic measurements by understanding all system requirements and how they translate to hardware requirements. If requirements are unknown, individual must be able to develop an experimental plan and lead the successful execution. All of this should be completed through proper data analysis, modeling, and assimilating historical understanding.
Must be able to work with a dynamic integrated engineering team and collaborate with others in constructive manner.
Individual must have experience in technical communications to other team members or management via oral presentations, written reports and journal publications.
Required Skills: Detailed knowledge of modern experimental cryogenic physics techniques including troubleshooting associated mechanical hardware, analog electronics and noise analysis, familiarity with thermal modeling software, scientific programming for data analysis and hardware interfacing (specific language is not critical), experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and journal publications.
Required Education: Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on cryogenic instrumentation supporting advanced measurement techniques.
Candidates with additional experience may be considered for more advanced positions.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
Special Requirements: U.S. citizenship. 
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.
Compensation: The base salary range for this full-time position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefits.
