CSU Administrative Assistant
Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a CSU Administrative Assistant position.
Eastern is Connecticut's Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut which is 1.5 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from New York City.
Eastern is one of six universities in the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU).

The Administrative Assistant acts as a confidential administrative support to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of the University, interacts with university personnel and exercises independent judgment regarding matters relating to the assigned office.
The Assistant handles correspondence for the office, schedules appointments and meetings, screens telephone calls, assists with administrative details, composes routine letters, edits correspondence, performs directed research activities, monitors office budgets and division accounts, prepares reports, and coordinates various projects as assigned.
The successful candidate must possess superior administrative skills, including word processing and calendar management; the ability to handle highly confidential material with appropriate discretion; effective interpersonal skills and the ability to consistently exercise tact, diplomacy, problem solving skills, and a customer service orientation with various constituent groups in a busy office environment; evidence of strong writing and editing skills; excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work successfully on multiple projects, including ensuring that key deadlines are met throughout the year, and helping plan and run the University's Commencement.
Required Qualifications:
Three years' experience as an Administrative Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
Experience in a higher education setting.
Experience supervising support staff/student employees.
Administrative experience supporting high-level executives such as Dean of a College or School, Vice President or President.
