Weekends: As needed

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the radiologist, DI Administration and/or Lead CT Technologist, performs professional duties which involve a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for CT scans.
Assist physicians in selection of practical application and technical factors.


ESSENTIALS RESPONSIBILITIES Performs a variety of CT exams related to the field, including invasive procedures and IV insertion. Explain the procedure to the patient.
Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply ionizing radiation to patients for diagnosis of disease. Administer prescribed contrast media according to established guidelines. Assist in interventional CT exams.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Computer skills: Mainframe system entry, Teleradiology system. High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
QUALIFICATIONS Education Completed two years of an approved Radiological Technology Program required. Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists required. A current license in the State of Connecticut is required. CT Registered and hold a current State of Connecticut CT License. Maintaining appropriate CEU's to meet ARRT guidelines is required. CPR - Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required. EXPERIENCE Approved contrast injection training according to the D.I.
Medical Director is required. Minimum of 1 year practical experience performing related duties as a CT technologist including IV insertion is preferred.
