Job Title: CT Technologist - Calcium Scoring Specialist Location: Carient Heart & Vascular, Manassas location Position Type: Part-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist with specialized expertise in calcium scoring to join our medical imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans specifically for calcium scoring assessments, essential for evaluating coronary artery disease risk. This role requires a meticulous and detail-oriented individual with experience in cardiac imaging and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities: Perform calcium scoring CT scans accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality imaging results. Operate and maintain advanced CT imaging equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting as needed. Review and interpret preliminary imaging results to ensure adherence to established protocols and standards. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and contribute to diagnostic accuracy. Educate and prepare patients for calcium scoring procedures, explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns. Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiation safety measures, to protect patients and staff. Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including scan results, procedures performed, and any relevant observations. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with advancements in CT technology and calcium scoring techniques. Qualifications: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred). Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT). Valid state licensure as required. Proven experience in performing calcium scoring CT scans, with a solid understanding of cardiac imaging and calcium scoring techniques. Strong knowledge of CT imaging equipment and radiation safety practices. Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Skills: Additional certification or training in cardiovascular imaging or advanced CT techniques. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and imaging software. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move patients as required. Good manual dexterity and coordination for operating CT equipment. Work Environment: Clinical setting with exposure to imaging technology and patient interactions. Full adherence to infection control and safety procedures.
