Evaluates image quality and utilizes proper radiation safety practices.Job Description:Schedule: CT/X-ray WEEKENDS ONLY. Shift times: Friday-Sunday 7a-7Working holidays that land on Friday-SundayWeekend Premium PayLearn about Thedacare New London:Critical access hospital – trauma and stroke readinessFull imaging department – CT, MRI, x-ray (fluoro and surgery), US, Echo, Dexa, Mammography7 bed Emergency Room – Average daily census: 2417 bed MedSurg – Average daily census: 11-12 patients3 OR rooms and 3 procedure roomsMany specialty areas – General surgery, urology, podiatry, Ortho, Wound care, Cardiac and pulmonary rehab, PT and OT, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, hematology, Cancer care servicesKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Provides professional, empathetic, and compassionate care to team members, patients, families, and significant others. Greets patients and their families, assists patients with dressing/undressing, transports or ambulates patients, and assists patients with comfort needs.2. Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment and safety practices in the areas of CT department, interventional radiology, emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient services.. Exhibits competency and skills needed to perform CT scans including interventional radiology and cardiology procedures per protocol, and sets appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.4. Completes department tasks such as stocking supplies, checking outdated supplies, performing safety audits or tracking, and cleaning rooms and equipment to remain compliant with requirements, regulations, and policies.5. Provides practical instruction for students and other health care professionals.6. Shows competency in intravenous access and administration of contrast in accordance with established protocols while using aseptic technique.7. Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy/procedure. This includes proper image management and accurate documentation in electronic medical record.8. Applies critical thinking skills and ensures order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients. Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for self and patients, using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with all government agencies or other regulatory bodies.QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or GED preferred. • Must be 18 years of age. • Graduate of an accredited radiography programAmerican Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) • Wisconsin licensePHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistanceJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Normally works in climate controlled office environmentFrequent sitting with movement throughout office space • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instrumentsOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.Occasional high noise level in work environmentPossible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.Use of computers throughout the work dayFrequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingersScheduled Weekly Hours:36Scheduled FTE:0.9Location:ThedaCare Medical Center - New London - New London,WisconsinOvertime Exempt:No
