Job Title: CT/X-Ray Technician Job Summary: As a CT/X-ray technician, you will be responsible for operating specialized imaging equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to produce high-quality images that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. It is essential to adhere to safety protocols and ensure patient comfort and confidentiality throughout the imaging process.
Responsibilities: Perform CT and X-ray imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
Monitor patients during imaging procedures and intervene as necessary to ensure their well-being.
Review images for quality and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary anatomical structures are captured.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and communicate findings.
Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive medical information.
Follow established protocols for radiation protection and minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols.
Stay updated on advancements in imaging technology and participate in continuing education to maintain ARRT certification.
Qualifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in CT and X-ray.
Associate's or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a related field.
State licensure or certification as required.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to patient care and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
