Position Summary: The Custodian performs routine and general cleaning, maintaining assigned area(s) to meet staff, clients, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities: Clean and dust all horizontal and vertical surfaces including windows, doors, desks, shelves, intake vents, tables, chairs, and cabinets Maintain clean carpets by detailed vacuuming, spot removal and shampooing Perform hard surface care for tile, concrete, tabletops, drinking fountains, and counters including buffing, sweeping, washing, polishing, spot removal and disinfecting. Perform spot cleaning for walls, light switches, and doors as needed Service and sanitize restrooms by cleaning floors, bathtubs, showers, sinks, urinals, toilets, and mirrors Ensure cleanliness of kitchen counters, sinks, appliances, and floors Empty trash and recycle receptacles; replace liners as needed Assist with program space set up as directed (tables, chairs, etc.
) Monitor and report maintenance repairs Organize cleaning supplies Maintain outdoor property as needed Assist with building repairs as needed, such as painting, moving furniture or plumbing Clean and maintain grease trap monthly and reporting the findings to the officers (if applicable) Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education/Experience: High School Diploma / GED preferred or, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Janitorial experience preferred Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Maintains confidentiality Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (preferred) Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint (preferred) Willingness to learn new software as needed Certificates and Licenses: Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
