Chronicle Books seeks a service-focused Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team.
The CSR is the primary contact for all general inquiries and visitors to Chronicle Books, and they are responsible for responding to and managing all customer inquiries and orders from our website (B2C) and wholesale site (B2B).
They are also responsible for all activities involved in the operation of the Front Desk, including retail sales, customer service, and oversight of the lobby bookstore.
The CSR also provides as-needed administrative support for the Senior Sales Manager of Institutional and Trade Sales, 20 hours per week.
The CSR will receive package deliveries and notify recipients, while also arranging for messenger service pick- ups and tracking packages, and forwarding messages left during non-business hours.
They will maintain a general knowledge of who does what in the office, who is in and out of the office, and where materials are available.
Maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the front desk area and retail store, assisting with the scheduling of conference rooms, updating the company calendar while keeping phone lists, office maps and author address lists up-to-date are also part of this role.
This position does require someone to work a M - F schedule in our San Francisco office.

Hiring Salary Range - $22.84/hr - $26.27/hr.
This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.

Requirements

Prior experience in retail customer service or in an administrative role is a bonus, but not required.
Applicants will need exceptional inter-personal skills and customer service savvy, experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Zendesk, and Shopify.
They should be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks, possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to learn and remember things in a timely manner.
