Darkroom Student Assistant

The Darkroom Assistant in the Art Department is an exciting technical position for a student who has experience with black and white film developing.
The Darkroom Assistant conducts open darkroom sessions independently outside of class.


Duties include:
Open the darkroom, mix photography chemicals and set up equipment, Assist students in developing film and making photographic prints, Recycle chemicals and clean at session's end.
Ensure that chemicals are closed and labeled properly, Maintain cleanliness of the photo lab and darkroom.
Enforce rule: no food or drink in the photo lab or darkroom, and insure that only students enrolled in current classes are permitted to use the labs.
