Details of the offer

The CDC Foundation seeks two Data Analysts to support the continuation and expansion of the PLACES program. The Data Analysts will work with the PLACES team at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to gather and compile health-related social needs measures to analyze and interpret into the PLACES database and web platform. The Data Analysts will support the program by working with the team to prepare and analyze public health data from various data sources such as the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System. Data Analysts will interpret and transfer population-level and community data annually into the PLACES database to increase accessibility and ease of use by local and state jurisdictions and public health professionals.
PLACES (www.cdc.gov/PLACES) is a collaboration between the CDC, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the CDC Foundation. PLACES provides model-based, population-level analysis and community estimates of health measures to all counties, places (incorporated and census designated places), census tracts, and ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs) across the US. The PLACES team uses advanced small-area estimation (SAE) methods to generate dozens of chronic disease and other health-related measures.
