Data Analyst (Intermediate)

Job#: 2047154 Job Description: Data Analyst (Intermediate) Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm and our Staffing practice is looking for a Data Analyst with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. In order to be successful in this role you will need to be well versed in Excel, Power BI, SSIS, and SQL. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.
Client: Big Five Bank
Contract: You will start Early October 2024 for a 6 months contract. Extension is likely based on performance.
Working Location: Remote out of Greater Toronto Area.
Working Hours: Business hours, 37.5 hrs/week, Monday-Friday
Dress Code: Business Casual
Ultimately, you will help automate our business intelligence/data processes to help us make better decisions.
Responsibilities: Translate business needs to technical specificationsEvaluate and improve existing BI systems/data analysisAutomate as there is currently significant manual processHelp go from Excel to SSIS/Power BICollaborate with teams to integrate systemsDevelop and execute database queries and conduct analysesCreate visualizations and reports for requested projectsDevelop and update technical documentationRequirements: 4+ years proven experience as a Data AnalystIn-depth understanding of ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework – SSISIn-depth understanding of Microsoft Power BIIn-depth knowledge of SQL queries and Excel (Pivot Tables, V Look Ups, Macros)Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovativeAnalytical mind with a problem-solving aptitudeBSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Data and Analytics, Data Science, MathematicsInterview Process: 2 Rounds with client. First with hiring manager, second with hiring manager and team.
