Oxford Community Schools - website Data & Systems Support Specialist Oxford Virtual Academy 2024-2025 School Year Primary Function: Assist in the support, development, and growth of Oxford Virtual Academy data and systems.
Qualifications - Education & Experience: Associate degree or higher in a technology-related field or equivalent experience. Experience managing data across multiple online systems. Experience using advanced Excel skills (i.e.
Logic Functions, Conditional Formatting, Data Validation, VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, etc.)
and ability to learn new skills quickly. Experience troubleshooting and supporting end users with technical issues. Experience in at least one programming language commonly used in the industry, such as Python, PHP, or JavaScript. Basic knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB. Understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. At ease with learning new technology skills, programs, and instructional platforms. Ability to work a flexible schedule during peak times of the year. Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and tasks to meet deadlines along with a sense of urgency. Possess superior organization skills with high attention to detail. Capable of problem-solving and working well independently. Exhibit professionalism and a positive attitude when working with others. Experience working in schools and managing student records such as transcripts, grades, and the master schedule. Responsible for managing and validating course enrollments and material purchases. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide support to administration for data requests. Assist in managing multiple requests that support instruction and daily operations of the virtual academy and district. Provide accurate and efficient data entry into databases, spreadsheets, or other data management systems. Organize and maintain data integrity and consistency. Maintain staff and student data confidentiality. Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks, such as data entry, validation, or manipulation. Utilize scripting languages like PHP, JavaScript, or PowerShell to create efficient automation solutions. Provide technical support for data entry systems or scripts, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime. Debug scripts and troubleshoot errors to ensure smooth operation of automation processes. Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data management and automation. Provide basic troubleshooting assistance for software issues users encounter, such as application errors, login problems, or software crashes. Assist users with software installations, updates, and configurations. Escalate more complex software issues to higher-level support teams as needed. Assist users with basic hardware troubleshooting, including issues related to computers, printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Log and track support requests using ticketing systems or help desk software. Provide remote assistance to users using remote desktop tools or screen-sharing software. Maintain regular and predictable in-person attendance. Support the OCS vision and mission. Perform other duties as required. Reports to: Oxford Virtual Academy Assistant Principal/Tech Director
Salary Range: $43,735 - $55,402; commensurate with education and experience.
