We are seeking a Data Architect to join our growing biopharmaceutical company. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager of Development, this position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the data architecture strategy for our Healthcare/Pharmaceutical client.
Additional responsibilities of the Data Architect role include: Develop and implement data architecture strategy aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective solutions. Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for integrity and consistency. Define data standards, governance processes, and management best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to optimize data architecture and enhance data quality. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for recommended technical approaches for solving our internal complex data-related development and integration problems. Provide guidance and mentorship to data engineering team. Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in data architecture, data management, and data governance. Ensure data quality and consistency through data integration, transformation, and cleansing. Participate in on-call rotation and assist with after-hours issues, as required. This Is What It Takes: Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems science, or equivalent experience (Master's degree preferred). Six (6) + years of comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies, data modeling and ETL/ELT processes. Five (5) + years of experience with SQL programming objects, including stored procedures, user-defined functions, and common table expressions. Five (5) + years of experience with data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc.). Prior experience developing cloud-based data solutions using Azure Data Factory. Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models, typically for the purpose of creating or extending complex relational data models. Working knowledge of general business, quality/regulatory requirements, and/or manufacturing systems is preferred. Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices. Must demonstrate proficiency with technical, conceptual, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to problems creatively.
