Description SAIC is seeking a Data Architect to support our customer. This position will work directly with a Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO) to develop guidance for data standards, metadata guidelines, and the data architecture principles.
This position will also be responsible for the following:
Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design, and implementation to meet enterprise requirements. Work closely with government customers and relevant stakeholders to validate customer requirements. Assist the ODNI CDAO in providing strategic direction and technical expertise, and contribute to the IT Data Governance Boards and working groups. Assist the ODNI CDAO in developing data implementation roadmaps and data standards for interoperability, quality, and entity and data attributes that will allow the ODNI CDAO to manage ODNI's dataset inventory and help increase the data literacy across the whole of ODNI. Help develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for data architecture, in conjunction with data owners, mission managers, and stakeholders. Design and implement effective data solutions to ingest, curate, store, and retrieve agency mission, business, and IC data. Participate in data standards committees and drive/manage operational data standards to include investigating, implementing, improving, and converting legacy data standards. Provide leadership for complex projects throughout the development of project work plans, milestone tracking, and coordination of efforts. Create and implement data business rules, data lifecycle management, and data mapping documents, and assist customers in mapping of legacy data models to target data models. Contribute to and collaborate on executive-level briefings for ODNI CDAO and develop best practices, processes, and standards for data migration. Collaborate with Chief Data Architect, system architects, and security architects. Strong data architecture and analytical skills are essential to complete job requirements successfully. Qualifications Current TS/SCI with Poly is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant STEM field. 10+ years of total professional experience in a technical setting; with at least 5 of those years as a Data Architect, or related role. Experience developing requirements for the integration of data services, and requirements for a centralized data catalog, and developing requirements for data management technology. Experience participating in data standards committees to drive/manage operational data standards to include investigating, implementing, improving, and converting legacy data standards. Experience creating data mapping documents and assisting customers in mapping of legacy data models to target data models. Applying new data technologies, data management processes, system analysis principles and techniques, process engineering concepts, and assessing data solutions for compliance and conformance with guidelines and policies. Understanding of the use and maintenance of data dictionaries, data models, and data maps in an enterprise business software environment. Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, SQL, and Cloud technologies. Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced mission environment which requires balancing competing priorities and schedules. Desired Skills: Have a depth of experience in data science, to include demonstrated experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL), statistical programs (e.g. R and MS Excel), and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, QlikView). Database administrator certification such as AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, or MongoDB. Demonstrated experience with data architecture tools similar to ER/Studio, Erwin, or Lucid Chart. Have experience working in Agile and DevOps environments. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
