Job Title: Data Center Technician I Job Location: Florence, KY Job Duration: 4-month assignment with potential for full-time conversion (within 90 days) Pay Range: $25.39/Hr - $26.39/Hr Shift: 1st shift (8 AM to 4:30 PM EST) or 2nd shift (5 PM to 1:30 AM EST) Job Description: As a Data Center Technician, you will be a primary problem solver for your support team, troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues.
You will: Create and maintain documentation Share knowledge with junior staff Possess basic to intermediate system administration skills Perform automation and remote system administration tasks Work independently to resolve most support issues Manage small projects and collaborate on larger initiatives Serve as the initial escalation point for junior technicians Understand the equipment you support and demonstrate innovation, decision-making, and follow directions Typical Day in the role: Sorting components like AP cards and GPUs that can become defective due to heat.
Sorting: Inspecting, evaluating, and sorting components from boards or pallets.
Preparation and Receiving: Preparing parts for testing, conducting basic repairs, and handling pass/fail criteria.
Disposal or Recycling: If parts fail testing; they will be destroyed or shredded.
If they pass, they will be shipped for reuse or recovery.
Conduct a range of receiving, testing, repair, or shipping operations for Data Center/Networking parts Utilize standard operating procedures for troubleshooting and reporting variations Use multiple types of testing software in conjunction with warehouse management systems to track and enable device testing and repair Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces Collaborate with both independent work and team efforts Prioritize tasks, maintain organization, and communicate effectively in fast-paced environments Job Requirements: Experience with hardware IT background (any type) Familiarity with computer components and cybersecurity Proficiency in MS Office (Excel for data entry, Outlook) Minimum 5 years of experience (open to junior candidates with a positive attitude and willingness to learn) IT support experience with computer hardware components Manufacturing environment experience Team Culture: You'll be part of the reverse logistics hub team, which supports the data center.
The site processes, inspects, evaluates, and tests parts before sending them to the most appropriate recovery path, such as reuse, integration into new equipment, or recycling.
Quality is emphasized over quantity.
