Job Summary:
As a Senior Data Modeler supporting Workplace Investments (WI), you will leverage deep data modeling and architecture expertise to develop data models for key initiatives.
In this role, you will collaborate with leaders to establish standards, influence strategic decisions, and build scalable solutions that drive business growth.
You will mentor junior data modelers and stay hands-on to maintain your technical expertise.
As a leader in the WI Data Modeling group, you will promote innovation and data strategy by enhancing data modeling practices.
You will partner with business and technical teams to design and implement flexible and detailed data models, accelerating product delivery for WI.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models at project and enterprise levels.
•Build dimensional models, including crafting conformed dimensions for cross-business unit use.
•Use data modeling tools such as PowerDesigner, Oracle Designer, or Erwin.
•Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Analytics teams to align data models with technical needs.
•Write SQL queries (preferably ANSI SQL) to query data for modeling validation.
•Stay updated with AI technologies, techniques, and trends.
•Partner with project teams, vendors, support organizations, functional architects, and other technical resources to gather requirements and deliver data modeling solutions.
•Contribute to the development of guidelines and standards for data design, governance, and cataloging repositories.
•Mentor junior data modelers to promote skill development.
•Drive process improvements by recommending changes to methodologies, standards, or technologies.
Required Qualifications:
•Expertise in data modeling, including conceptual, logical, physical, 3NF, and dimensional models.
•Experience building conformed dimensions across business units.
•Hands-on experience with data modeling tools like PowerDesigner, Oracle Designer, or Erwin.
•Strong collaboration experience with Data Engineering and Analytics teams.
•Proficiency in writing SQL queries (preferably ANSI SQL).
•General knowledge of AI technologies, techniques, and trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Familiarity with best practices in data design, governance processes, and maintaining data repositories.
•Industry thought leadership in data modeling and database design.
•Strong communication skills to explain data structures to non-technical audiences.
•Ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate effectively.
•Experience working with financial or investment data is a plus.
