Your impactHandshake is seeking a Data Science Manager to lead our Product Analytics function. You will guide a team of Data Scientists to provide insights that drive data-informed decisions in the Product Development process. This role involves close collaboration with leads in Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Business Operations to develop and execute our analytics roadmap and strategy for our three-sided marketplace, serving students, employers, and universities.


Your roleLead, mentor, and empower a team of data scientistsOversee the team's efforts in reporting, analytics, and experimentation for Product at HandshakeCollaborate with Data, Product, and Engineering leaders to define a long-term vision for the Product Analytics team and translate it into actionable quarterly roadmapsContribute directly to analytics work when needed, acting as a player-coach and thought partner to team membersPartner with Product and Engineering Leadership to establish best practices and processes for Product Development with the goal of enabling product engineering teams to self serve for basic analytics tasksShape the mission, technical direction, and culture of the Data Science and Analytics teamWork with Relevance, Analytics Engineering, and Data Engineering teams on high-impact data projectsYour experiencePrior experience as a data scientist or related function, including past experience in a managerial roleStrong technical expertise in Product Analytics and statistical methodologies (A/B Testing)Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and other disciplines at both leadership and operational levelsPassion for developing and coaching team membersCommitment to team members' well-beingExperience in creating and delivering long-term strategies, projects, and hiring plans.Expertise in SQL and PythonExcellent communication skills, including listening, synthesis, advocacy, and evangelismCompensation range$235,000 - $250,000/yearAbout usHandshake is the #1 place to launch a career with no connections, experience, or luck required. (UK-specific benefits, in addition to the first section) Pension Scheme: Handshake will provide you with a workplace pension, where you will make contributions based on 5% of your salary.
