Shift / Hours: Monday - Friday / 8am - 5pm / Hybrid (2-5 days onsite based on business needs)
SUMMARY
Working in the lab of Dr. Jingfei Ma in the Department of Imaging Physics, the Data Scientist will contribute to research in the area of development and validation of clinically-impactful MRI and artificial intelligence/deep learning applications and techniques for cancer detection, characterization, and assessment or prediction of treatment responses.
The chosen applicant will have demonstrated experience with image analyses and interpretation, as well as computation and programming in data science, data mining, and data integration. In addition, the chosen applicant will have demonstrated hands-on experience in machine learning/deep learning algorithms, radiomics, multi-omics, and bioinformatics.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Lead and help execute the research projects or sub-projects in the PI's lab.Design, implement, and evaluate/test/validate novel MRI and artificial intelligence/deep learning applications and techniques.Lead and assist in preparation and presentation of scientific abstracts to national and international conferences.Lead and assist in preparation of publications by peer-reviewed scientific journals.Lead and assist in preparation of research proposals to be submitted/resubmitted for internal or external funding.Assist mentor and supervise the trainees and junior members in the PI's lab.Develop and maintain software tools and infrastructure as needed in the PI's lab. Other Duties As Assigned REQUIREMENTS Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, or related field.
Preferred Education: Master's degree or PhD with a concentration in Science, Engineering or related field.

Experience Required: Three years experience in scientific software development/analysis. With Master's degree, one years experience required. With PhD, no experience required.
