Odyssey Systems is recruiting for a Data Scientist. In this role you will support the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Acquisition Delta. The Delta's mission is to modernize and sustain missile warning, missile defense, space domain awareness, and command and control systems to protect the Homeland and the United States' allies. As a member of the Chief Information Officer's staff, the Data Scientist models complex business problems, and discovers business insights through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. The Data Scientist contributes to building and developing the organization's data infrastructure and supports senior leadership with insights, management reports, and analysis for decision-making at the Delta, Program Executive Officer, and Space Systems Command level. This is a full-time hybrid role at Peterson SFB, in Colorado Springs, CO.
Duties include, but not limited to: 
Utilizes Data Science principles to assist customers with novel metrics and analysis to support business, engineering, and logical decisions. Assesses the enterprise architecture data to translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows Proactively mines data to identify trends and patterns and generates insights for business units and senior leadership Performs large-scale experimentation to identify hidden relationships between variables in large datasets Researches and implements cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence Visualizes information and develops engaging reports on the results of data analysis using data visualization tools Advises product teams on new products, features or updates through data-based recommendations Develops frameworks and processes to analyze unstructured information collected through social media platforms Distributes best practices to analytics and product teams and provides consultations for their data-based experimentations Cleans, organizes, scores, and engineers broad types of data Utilizes cutting-edge technologies to establish and maintain data pipelines Generates, advises, and refines machine learning models Minimum Requirements: Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
Clearance: Must have a minimum Secret with current TS eligibility or a minimum active Top Secret
Certification: Certificate in Data Science or modeling and simulation or statistics
Education: High School Diploma
Years of Experience: 5 years' experience with Python
Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning application/uses Experience or education with Statistical modeling through programming language (e.g. Python) Experience with robust data cleaning and data engineering Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to collaborate in a team environment Understanding of large language models and generative AI Experience with statistical analysis and/or modeling and simulation Experience building or refining machine learning models Preferred (nice to have) Experience: Clearance: Active Top Secret
Education: BA/BS degree in a science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) field of study
Demonstrated experience with the following python packages: Pandas, Numpy, Pytorch or Tensorflow, Sklearn, Pyodbc, Matplotlib, and Seaborn. Experience with a large variety of programing languages: Matlab, SQL, C#, Javascript, VBA Experience deploying data pipelines Ability to develop experimental and analytical plans for data modeling processes Experience with Confluence and Jira Familiarity with Agile/SAFE/DevSecOps Experience on USSF, USSPACECOM, USNORTHCOM or USSTRATCOM staff Familiarity with cloud services such as P1, UDL, or Advana  Experience Web app front-end development with HTML, CSS Experience with automating business processes Previous leadership or management experience #LI-CA1

Please note: Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
