We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to work onsite in Pearl Harbor with either a focus on Data Engineering or Data Visualization.
For focus in Data Engineering:
The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure, systems, and pipelines that enable the efficient processing, storage, and retrieval of large-scale data sets.
The Data Engineer will work closely with data scientists and visualization analysts, in addition to Naval leadership, to ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the data pools. The role will be critical in ensuring the smooth and seamless flow of data across various systems and applications, enabling data-driven insights and decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To work within a data team utilizing KANBAN project methodologies (JIRA) to help produce dashboard for use by the U.S. Navy. Specifically, the data scientist's tasks will include:
Data Mining (Data quality assessment, Data synthesis)
Data Cleaning (Entity definition, Entity extraction)
Data Exploration (Trend and correlation identification, Summary statistics)
Feature engineering
For the Focus in Data Visualization:
The Data Visualization Scientist will require experience building dashboards / visualizations in Tableau or Qlik Sense.
Qualifications:
For Engineering:
Proficient in SQL, Python, Databricks AWS, Data Modeling, the basics of Dev Ops methodology (especially requirements gathering and planning), quality assurance testing processes, and JIRA basics.
For Visualization:
Experience in Tableau, Qlik Sense. Experience in building dashboards.
Both:
High-level understanding of data analysis methodologies.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requests.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a data-related field from an accredited university.
Security Clearance: Must have current, active "Secret" Security Clearance.
