The Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Data Scientist. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Position Overview: As a Data Scientist within Advanced Programs, your experience with data analysis techniques will assist in the research, development, and growth of complex software applications. You will be working with a fast-paced and exciting research and development environment that utilizes your familiarity with modern data science techniques. You are expected to communicate technical information effectively and clearly, and present technical approaches and findings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Software development using Agile Methodology.
Tool and prototype development using Python.
Work in cross-discipline teams and communicate clearly across various levels of engineers.
Technical documentation as required.
Basic Qualifications: Level 2: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline and 2 years of related experience; 0 years of related experience with a Masters.
Level 3: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science, or related discipline and 5 years of related experience; 3 years of related experience with a Masters or 1 year of related experience with a PhD.
Active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility. Familiarity with data visualization techniques and python packages (i.e. pandas, matplotlib, plotly, dash, etc.)
Experience developing in Linux environments.
Experience with building custom data analysis and visualization tools.
Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
Experience in basic statistical analysis techniques (i.e. Bayesian statistics, Statistical Inference, Bootstrapping, Regression, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance.
Familiarity with revision control, documentation, planning, and review systems like Git.
Experience with C++ and/or MATLAB.
Experience with containers (Kubernetes and/or Docker).
Experience working with customers within the Intelligence Community.
Familiarity working with Atlassian ecosystem tools.
Experience working with data manipulation, processing and visualization packages.

Salary Range: $98,400 - $147,600
Salary Range 2: $121,400 - $182,000
