We're looking for a Data Scientist II to join the team responsible for equipping artists' teams with tools to analyze how their music is discovered and resonating with fans, benchmark their performance on Spotify, identify opportunities to grow their audience, and make data-driven decisions.
In this role, you will partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and user research to build the technology that makes this a reality. You will tackle complex problems such as analyzing behavioral data to identify opportunities to make our products more valuable, building instrumentation and dashboards to gain observability into product performance, prototyping new data products that solve key customer needs, and running experiments to improve the experience and drive business impact.
As part of the Product Insights team in Music Mission, you will have a community of data scientists, user researchers, and analytics engineers to collaborate with and learn from. You'll also be connected to the broader Spotify insights community which expands the influence of your team's work.
\n What You'll DoWork closely with cross-functional teams of data scientists, researchers, product owners, engineers, designers, marketers, and others across the company to develop the next generation of promotion tools for artists.Drive data science projects end-to-end with autonomy, diligence, and resourcefulness, ensuring delivery of business impact.Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and identify the most impactful opportunities for product development to solve them.Define metrics and build dashboards to measure the health and success of our products.Prototype new data products that elucidate & solve key customer needs.Partner closely with other data scientists to inform, build, and test hypotheses that deliver actionable insights to improve and expand our products.Contribute to a community of data scientists by evolving best practices and learning new skills.Maintain a culture of rigor and data-informed decision-making to drive tangible business impact. Who You AreDemonstrated ability in a similar Data Science role.Degree in data science, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar quantitative field.Expertise with product analytics, including crafting success metrics, performing exploratory analysis, and presenting findings with clear product recommendations or implications.Excel at building prototypes & visualizations that simplify the process of extracting insights from data for non-technical audiences.Demonstrated ability to synthesize insights from large datasets using tools such as Python, DBT, BigQuery, SQL, Tableau.Some experience using experimentation to drive product development.Strong communication skills and value building strong relationships with colleagues and partners, with the ability to explain sophisticated topics in straightforward terms.A compelling storyteller who can communicate in succinct and inspiring ways to audiences with varied data science experience to influence product or feature decisions.Bonus if you have experience with analytics products or creator-facing products. \nThe United States base range for this position is $ 107,765 - $ 153,951, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. These ranges may be modified in the future.
