Job Description:
As a senior-level Database Administrator, you will leverage your advanced expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL to manage and optimize complex database systems.
This role requires you to ensure the security, scalability, and performance of multiple environments, with a focus on delivering reliable, high-availability solutions.
You will also be responsible for supporting 24x7 on-call production support in a rotational schedule.
Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Multi-Tenant and PostgreSQL database servers Collaborate with development teams to design efficient, scalable database architectures Monitor performance, analyze slow queries, and implement optimizations Manage database security, encryption, and user roles in Oracle and PostgreSQL environments Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability Plan and forecast database capacity needs for scalability Perform data migrations and develop ETL processes across databases Implement high-availability solutions like Oracle Data Guard and PostgreSQL replication Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, providing support to development and operations teams Automate routine database tasks using scripts for monitoring and performance tuning Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams, documenting configurations and processes Ensure regulatory compliance, auditing database security and access logs Stay updated on new database technologies, proposing improvements for efficiency Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies: Advanced expertise in Oracle Multi-Tenant Architecture and PostgreSQL Proficiency in performance monitoring tools like Oracle AWR and PostgreSQL pg_stat_statements Experience with Red Hat Linux Operating Systems Strong knowledge of backup tools like RMAN and pg_dump, with disaster recovery expertise Familiarity with Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and PostgreSQL replication Expertise in database security and encryption techniques Automation and scripting experience using Bash, PowerShell, PL/SQL, and PL/pgSQL Strong collaboration skills with experience working with development and DevOps teams Familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, SOX, and HIPAA
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $75.00/hr.
Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
