Job Description We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Database Developer to join our local government team.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with Progress databases and be comfortable navigating and enhancing a 40-year-old application with mixed business and database logic.
This role involves collaborating with various state agencies, local law enforcement, and prosecutors to implement mandates and enhancements, as well as performing bug fixes and system updates.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance the existing Progress database, ensuring the integrity and performance of the system.
Understand and work with legacy code that integrates both business and database logic.
Implement state court system mandates and enhancement requests under tight deadlines.
Collaborate with state agencies, Local Police Department, and prosecutors to update the court system as required (e.g., changes in legal status of marijuana).
Perform a mixture of bug fixes and system enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
Communicate effectively with business units to gather requirements and provide technical support.
Learn and adapt to new database languages and technologies as needed.
