The DC Training Manager of a $1B company's 1.8M Sq Ft automated distribution center reports directly to the DC Director and oversees the development, implementation and management of all the training programs for all team members within the distribution center.
This includes safety procedures, operational processes, and company policies.
The DC Training Manager will work closely with department managers to identify training needs and ensure that all training programs are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the Distribution Center.
In this dynamic role, the DC Training Manager leads by example, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability within the teams, while coaching and guiding them with the necessary tools and resources for success within a fast-paced diverse team environment that prioritizes collaboration, trust, and teamwork to drive employee and customer satisfaction.
The DC Training Manager leads initiatives to drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency, leveraging innovative solutions and best practices to optimize the overall performance of our distribution center.
This position also serves as a crucial liaison between operations teams and upper management to communicate and align cross functional teams, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning to drive company objectives in a rapidly evolving industry.

Functional Responsibilities Training Program Development: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs for new hires, as well as ongoing training for current employees.
This includes creating training materials, manuals, and presentations.
Needs Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify training needs within the Distribution Center.
Collaborate with department managers to understand specific training requirements and customize training programs accordingly.
Training Delivery: Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels.
Ensure that training methods are engaging and effective, using a variety of instructional techniques.
Compliance and Safety Training: Ensure that all employees receive required safety and compliance training.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and standards to integrate them into training programs.
Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
Make necessary adjustments to improve training quality and outcomes.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all training activities, employee participation, and certification statuses.
Ensure that training records are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and best practices in training and development.
Propose and implement improvements to training programs based on feedback and new developments.
Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach team leads and supervisors to enhance their training and leadership skills.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the Distribution Center.
Education/Qualifications REQUIRED Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
A master's degree is preferred.
Certification in Training and Development, such as a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), is a plus.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design is highly desirable Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Microsoft Office suite.
Demonstrated strong customer service, communications and interpersonal skills with ability to collaboratively address complex workplace challenges.
Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace including walking, bending, and lifting within an automated distribution center environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT This position is based in a Distribution Center environment, which may involve working in varying temperatures and conditions.
The role requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate training sessions that may occur during different shifts.
This position will require working in various settings, including the set-up, navigation, and operation within environments where material handling, light, and heavy industrial activities are performed.
Personal Protective Equipment (ex.
High-Visibility Vest, Eyewear, Gloves, etc.)
may be required and provided by ULAC when working in certain environments within the Distribution Center.

Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and levels of management.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
Experience REQUIRED Minimum of 5 years of experience in a training and development role, preferably within a Distribution Center, warehouse, or logistics environment.
Proven experience in designing and implementing training programs and workshops.
