Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for a technician for the SECAP Surface Enhance Capability to Assess Program team who schedules, and tracks Deck assessments on U.S. Naval Vessels. The technician also conducts troubleshooting and repairs on HM&E systems, specifically:Deck Machinery, Anchor Windlasses, Boat Davits & Winches, Monorails & hinged ramps, Mooring capstans, Boat & Multi-purpose cranes / Booms, and underway replenishment equipment in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and International Standards Organization (ISO). Job Description: SECAP works with Deck equipment and Machinery systems onboard all U.S. Naval vessels in San Diego, CA.Provide shipboard equipment maintenance and practical shipboard instruction to ship's force to upgrade their ability to diagnose problems and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.Must have a BA/BS Degree in related field and at least 4 years of experience OR Associates and at least 8 years of experience OR HS Diploma or equivalent and at least 10 years of technical or operational experience.Must have at least 7 years of related experience troubleshooting, assessing, and inspecting shipboard systems and equipment.Must have experience in supporting the operation and maintenance of Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E), Auxiliaries or Main Propulsion equipment. Security Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Travel Requirements: Occasional travel - less than 10%.If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements: Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.Communicating with others to exchange information.Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
