Demand Analyst Location Ronkonkoma, NY : Description: SUMMARY: The Demand Analyst conducts research and analyses so as to accurately predict customer demand, create and maintain forecast models, assist in the management of inventory, and provide guidance to finance, procurement, inventory management, and sales teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Gather data from internal and external sources on factors known to affect demand. Analyze data from various sources and apply analyses to the creation and maintenance of future demand forecast modeling. Analyze and interpreted marketing data and utilize in forecasting models. Monitor information on events or occurrences that could impact demand such as promotions, production delays and market disruptions; incorporate into forecast modeling. Communicate actionable insights to guide sales and marketing teams. Gather updates on vendors, distributors, sales, and other stakeholders that can affect demand. Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons Collaborate with cross-functional team members to minimize inventory waste, reconcile significant variances between, demand forecasts, supply and purchase orders and achieve cash flow objectives. Provide input to the inventory control team and Supply Analyst in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Track performance, pull data, draw insights and provide stakeholders with informative explanations. Prepare detailed reports of outcomes and sales. Refine systems and methods to improve forecasts in order to better anticipate customer needs. Requirements: REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Advanced knowledge of inventory management, vendor management, procurement and forecast modeling. Exceptional Excel skills (including creation of Pivot Tables, formulas, and utilization of VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP…etc.) Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs. Exceptional analytical, time management, organizational and attention to detail skills. Thorough understanding of the complete Supply Chain. Understanding of seasonality and peak demand times. Presentation skills and speaking ability. Cross-functional collaboration skills. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor's Degree is required in one of the following majors. A minimum of three (3) years' demand analyst experience in a pharmaceutical and or packaging setting.
