Responsibilities
•Perform Pedo Prophies
•Chairside assist doctors
•Float assisting
•Assemble instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments
•Educate patients by giving oral hygiene instructions
•Contribute to team effort by helping where needed
•Welcome patient and explain dental care treatment plans so they feel comfortable during their appointment
•Assure all dental office infection control policies and safety regulations are met by disinfecting and sterilizing all equipment and instruments after use
•Help dentists and dental hygienists during procedures or examinations by providing suction, handing off dental instruments, and ensuring chair-side accessibility to the team
•Answer any questions the patient may have about dental hygiene, schedule appointments for patient care follow-up, and provide postoperative instructions with methods for infection control of the patient's teeth and gums, after procedures
•Evaluate and document vital signs for patients and update medical records
Qualifications
•Dental assistance or schooling given preference
•Experience with children
•Strong interpersonal skills, customer service, organization, and excellent communication skills are essential
