*Job Summary*


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety while performing a variety of hygiene-related tasks.
This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols.




*Responsibilities*


- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations to determine oral health status.


- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, applying fluoride treatments, sealants, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices.


- Maintain aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during all dental procedures.


- Monitor vital signs and document medical histories accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.


- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all medical records are up to date.


- Implement infection control protocols to safeguard the health of patients and staff.


- Utilize electronic health record systems such as dentrix for patient documentation and management.


- Provide guidance on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care to patients.


- Help schedule and follow up on recall appointments




*Skills*




- local anesthesia certification is preferred but not required




- ability to take quality x-rays with competence in identifying basic caries and pathology


- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control measures.


- Ability to monitor vital signs effectively.


- Experience with documentation review and medical documentation practices.


- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.


- Competence in patient assessment procedures.


- Understanding of dental coding principles is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time




Pay: $42.42 - $46.00 per hour




Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
