Job Description: An integrated healthcare system at the forefront of transformation is seeking a Deputy Chief Medical Officer (CMO). The Deputy CMO is responsible for planning, coordinating and communicating the organization's medical strategies, standards for care and policies. This medical leader will provide executive leadership for the corporate strategy planning process and manage the efficient implementation of vital corporate projects related to clinical programs. The Deputy CMO will represent the organization with external government, provider, advocacy, trade association and medical constituencies. Additionally, this leader will provide medical oversight across the organization to ensure medical practices reflect a commitment to high-quality patient care for commercial populations, Medicaid, Medicare and other target populations. Responsibilities: Provide medical leadership across the health plan to ensure medical practices reflect a commitment to high-quality patient care.Make decisions that prioritize the needs of members, providers, brokers and employers.Offer strategic, medical and clinical input and leadership on decisions affecting the organization, including evaluating potential alliances, addressing business challenges and reviewing select contracts.Manage and drive medical policies and guidelines for all lines of business: commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Duals.Identify and build processes, align resources and assign accountability for key objectives, deadlines and expectations; use metrics to measure performance and hold employees accountable.Ensure all organizational activities and business operations within the scope of control comply with local, state and federal regulations, as well as accreditation and other agency requirements. Requirements: A medical degree (MD or DO) with post-graduate training, board certification and an active medical license.10+ years of progressively responsible medical management experience, with a minimum of three years as a senior leader of an organization.Deep experience with health insurance is required; experience with government programs (preferred).Experience in an integrated healthcare system.A minimum of three years of clinical practice experience is required.Experience in managed healthcare (preferred).
