Headquartered in Walnut Creek, California, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) manages Contra Costa County's transportation sales tax program and oversees transportation planning efforts. With a staff of 27 people managing a multi-billion-dollar suite of projects and programs, CCTA is responsible for planning, funding, and delivering transportation infrastructure projects and programs throughout the county. Additionally, CCTA owns and operates GoMentum Station, the largest secured autonomous vehicle testing facility in the country, positioning the agency as a leader in transportation innovation.
CCTA is seeking a Deputy Executive Director, Planning, Programs and Policy to oversee the Planning and Programs Department, including the Growth and Congestion Management Programs and related technical work. This role involves planning, organizing, implementing, and leading innovative mobility and transportation management solutions across various agencies and jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include:
Developing the Comprehensive Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP).Managing the data policy and the Countywide Connected Data Center, including creating a digital twin of the transportation system.Developing diverse multimodal mobility programs to enhance public transit, sustainable transportation, and overall customer experience. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in transportation, traffic, civil engineering, urban planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university, master's degree preferred; and a proven history of progressive supervisory and management experience within a complex and diverse public agency, with ten years of proven experience in transportation, urban or community planning, managing regional planning studies and plans, and a demonstrated understanding of State and Federal transportation funding and planning processes; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The salary range for this position will be $240,933 - $325,270 DOQ/E. CCTA provides an annual adjustment based on the Consumer Price Index and regularly performs compensation studies to ensure compensation rates remain competitive.
