We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dermatologist for a locum tenens role to provide essential dermatology services in southeast Alaska. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a remote, underserved region while experiencing the unique beauty of the area.

Position Overview:Provide comprehensive outpatient dermatology care, including patient evaluations, clinical analysis, diagnosis, and therapy recommendations.Evaluate and treat a range of dermatological conditions involving the skin, hair, and nails.Develop and oversee treatment plans, collaborating with primary care providers to ensure continuity of care.Leverage ancillary services and testing to diagnose and treat conditions effectively, with timely follow-up on pathology results and treatment options.Perform both minor and complex dermatologic procedures, such as biopsies, cryosurgery, excisions, scar revision, electrodessication, and curettage, ensuring proper follow-up care.Prescribe medications responsibly, including biologics, topical chemotherapies, and Accutane, as clinically appropriate.Collaborate with medical and administrative leaders to establish targeted service lines for dermatologic needs in the region.Engage in quality assessment and improvement initiatives, including peer review activities.Conduct annual educational programs on dermatology for the medical staff.Promote and support the dermatology program through community engagement and collaboration with administrative leadership.Provide dermatology consultations as needed for other healthcare providers.Requirements:M.D. or D.O., Board Certified or Board Eligible in DermatologyCompletion of an accredited Dermatology ResidencyActive Alaska medical license or eligibility to obtain oneMinimum of two years of clinical experience in dermatologyProficient clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach to patient careAbout the Area:Nestled in the stunning landscape of Southeast Alaska, this community is known for its awe-inspiring natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and a vibrant arts and cultural scene.
