About the role

Seqera is seeking a Design Engineer to sit at the intersection of web development and design.
We're looking for someone with strong visual taste to help build our creative initiatives across web and brand.
When it comes to design and code, we're looking to work with experienced people who can pick up any problem and solve it.
At its core, Seqera is a tool for scientists where interactions and small details matter.
We expect a broad set of design skills and the ability to create high-quality designs, interactions, and prototypes.

In this role, you will help communicate Seqera's story - what we're building and why it matters.
You'll work with our team of designers and a web developer.
We're looking for someone who will not only enjoy developing for the web, but also designing great experiences as well.


While this position reports to the Design Director, you'll end up collaborating across the company including folks from the Design, Product, Marketing, and Engineering organizations.
You'll find yourself working on everything from our events presence, to our main web presence, to bridging the gap between our web presence and our platform.


What You'll Do You will be responsible for building beautiful, responsive web experiences that grow and build our brand Implement creative animations and interactions in code Explore visual design in Figma and translate it to web-native experiences Refactor/redesign older experiences Build 'connective tissue' across various parts of our web presence, ensuring easy navigation for users and a richer experience as we scale the complexity of what we do About you Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Media Technology, or related field Proven experience working 3-5+ years as a Front-End Developer, Web Developer, Design Engineer, or similar role in a web & brand team Fluency in React, Typescript, optimizing site performance, and SEO best practices A portfolio showcasing a range of technical skills, a creative use of code, and prototyping as a way to explore solutions Eye for good design and ability to express and strengthen a brand via web experiences Demonstrated experience building end-to-end websites and landing pages Intellectual curiosity - an enjoyment of solving hard problems and understanding the 'why' in addition to the right answer Exceptional communication and collaboration skills Nice to have: Experience with GraphQL Experience with Tailwind Previous experience working in-house at a fast-growing startup Previous experience as a visual designer Don't meet every single requirement?
