What you'll do as Design Master Fabricator….
Support fabrication project timing, quality, and customer requirements.
Uses tools and machinery on assigned fabrication projects.
Safely applies or uses materials and tools in fabrication shops.
Determination of techniques to be used in Automotive design model fabrication including mold making, metal working, wood working, composite lay-up , surfacing, painting, trim and assembly of complete exterior and interior design proposals;
Assure all design projects conform to design standards for accuracy.
Utilize computer systems as necessary.
Works with other team members in making required corrections and changes to assure projects timely completion.
Creates experimental parts and ornamentation working from clay models, sketches, engineering drawings, verbal direction, and math data to support the design organization.
Interfaces with designers, engineers, facility personnel to achieve project results.
Confers with design development personnel to determine required specifications
Interrupts the translation of drawings, prints and verbal ideas into fabrication projects or into precision forms, parts or shapes.
Develop new and innovative fabrication techniques to enhance the fabrication development process.
When appropriate participate in projects being performed off site by suppliers.
Implement complex fabrication strategies to complete projects in allotted time period.
Uses personal organizational skills in order to assure timely completion of assigned projects.
Uses a variety of basic hand tools and machines to perform assigned tasks, placing an emphasis on safety.

High level of understanding the requirements for physical model development and clay modeling techniques.
Ability to work in a dynamic work environment with continuous change and willingness to learn new skills.
Proficient at creative problem solving.
Ability to understand engineering requirements and incorporate into physical models.
High school graduate or equivalent

This position is a salary grade 6.
This position is a range of salary grades SG 5 - SG 8 .
