An operating company of Allegis Group, the global leader in talent solutions, Actalent launched as a new specialized engineering and sciences services and workforce solutions brand in 2021.Description:This drafter position will require familiarity with steel sheet and shape shop fabrication drawings with some machining and structural design (wood fire burner, dryers, material handling.) The primary types of equipment they design and manufacture include air handling components, biomass combustors and ancillary equipment like screw bottom bins and material transport fans.+ In their day to day they will be doing 2D design in autocad, this could be anything from machine drafting to annotating how something needs to be formed, folded etc. They may be interfacing with the customer getting demionsons in the field and then putting that design / dimensions down on paper.+ They will interpret design sketches of system elements and developing complete fabrication or process installation drawings.+ All drawings must include necessary dimensions, specifications and annotations for fabrication including weld symbols and a complete bill of materials with descriptions and weights - these are very detailed drawings. They will also interact with the fabrication shop and QC as well as possible periodic fieldwork that may include travel to project sites for field dimensioning and installation inspection maybe twice a year.Skills:autocad 2d, Drafting, Mechanical, project management, 2D, Autocad, Design, Solidworks, fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, burner, material handling, piper, Sheet metalAdditional Skills & Qualifications:+ Onsite, they work 4 days 10 hrs (7am-5pm) a week with Fridays off. They will need to be fine with the commute to St. Helens. The manager commutes from Beaverton to St. Helens.+ Experience drafting experience with AutoCAD 2D+ Project Managing (Customer facing, scope, project end date)+ Must have past work examples to present in an interview - if they have no drawings to their name the team does not feel they take enough pride in their work+ This person will need to have the desire to advance from drafter to head of this department with the current Design Manager retiring next summer. the manager wants 9 ish months to train and ID if this person is the right fit to backfill him. In those 2 years they will need to be open minded in using 2D modeling even if they are not an expert, Paul is willing to coach them up as long as they have some 2D experience.
