As an LPN Desk Nurse, you will be a leader in completing work that involves clerical duties to maintain an organized unit and allow nursing staff to focus on patient care. You will also maintain a line of communication between the patient and clinical staff while reporting directly to the RN Case Manager and Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Be a central communicator and resource for families, providers, and other departmentsMeet routinely with DON and Case Management team to discuss personnel and patient care status, issues, and informationAssess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments appropriatelySupervise all documentation of patient information
Prepare records for patientsProvide day-to-day guidance, support, and direction to direct patient care staff
Participate in patient care plan meetings
Train and orient staff as necessaryAssist nursing management team with staff meetings as needed to keep patient care staff informed of changes in patient care needs or operations to improve delivery of care
Assume primary responsibility in an emergency situation
Collaborate with direct patient care team in making decisions to benefit patient care
Participate in the completion of short and long-term care plans
