Desktop Administrator

Our client is expanding locations and is seeking a skilled, dedicated and motivated Desktop Administrator to join their team on a short-term project basis.
As a Desktop Administrator, you will be responsible for upgrading computers and phones within the organization, Tier 1-2 duties involving network troubleshooting and Active Directory.
This project will focus on implementing hardware and software improvements while ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems.
Solid people skills are a must as well.
Responsibilities: Perform hardware upgrades, software installations, and configurations on desktop computers running Windows operating systems.
Manage the upgrade process for mobile phones, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to security policies.
Possess expert knowledge in Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and above, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support to end-users.
Proficiently navigate and manage the Active Directory environment to ensure user accounts, security groups, and permissions are appropriately configured and maintained.
Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software components, tracking upgrades and replacements throughout the project.
Safeguard critical user data during upgrades and ensure seamless data migration to new devices.
Diagnose and resolve desktop and phone-related technical issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime for end-users.
Coordinate with IT teams and other stakeholders to ensure upgrades align with organizational policies and guidelines.
Keep detailed records of upgrade procedures, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference.
Conduct brief training sessions to assist employees in familiarizing themselves with new hardware and software features.
Qualifications: Proven experience as a Desktop Administrator or similar role, specifically involving computer and phone upgrades.
Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and above.
Proficiency in managing Active Directory, including user accounts and security groups.
Familiarity with hardware components and experience with hardware upgrades.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with end-users and IT teams.
Detail-oriented with a focus on documentation and maintaining accurate records.
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet project deadlines.
