Our internal and external systems are an integrated suite of collaborative supply chain software applications that are designed to assist our operations teams and customers in managing international and domestic shipping challenges. This position is a part of our Distribution team. This team focuses on building and sustaining our proprietary warehouse management system.
What you will be doing: Playing a key role on a collaborative project team, responsible for the design and production of mission critical, enterprise-scale business systems Translating requirements into system design specifications and the implementation of systems throughout the entire software development life cycle Developing a thorough understanding of the logistics business domain Maintaining an awareness of evolving technologies in use by other teams at Expeditors and in the technology industry as a whole Influence the design and technical direction of the system This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. Downtown Seattle Federal Way Lynnwood Bellevue (Factoria) Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study, or equivalent experience Robust Java coding abilities At least 5 years in a software development role in a team environment Experience with web development Demonstrated knowledge and experience with: Object oriented analysis and design Relational database concepts and SQL RESTful API's Customer service-oriented attitude and great time-management skills Ability to communicate across IT and Business roles Experience mentoring and/or coaching others in a team environment DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Angular Agile/SAFe leadership experience including continuous improvement of team processes Spring, Spring Boot, and dependency injection Web-based and service-based architectures and deployment paradigms Experience with IntelliJ, Maven, GitLab, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines Experience developing for peripheral hardware such as printers and scanners Operating systems including Linux, preferable RHEL7 Experience with Event Driven Architecture, Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Kafka Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not transfer or sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (such as an H-1B visa) for this opportunity. Additional Information Expected base salary: $88,000 to $175,000
