The full-time Development Coordinator will provide strategic support for the corporate and major gift team in its work to seek and secure funding for GMF programs from corporations and individuals worldwide.
This position is primarily internally facing, focusing on constituent research, and coordinating and implementing engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies with some direct interface with funders.
The Development Coordinator will work in close coordination with the other members of the corporate and major gift team within Development, and with members of the programmatic teams who also work on fundraising. Other close collaborators will be the Strategic Engagement and Finance teams as well as other development assistants, gift officers, and the donor relations staff on the rapidly growing Development team.
The Development Coordinator will report to the Senior Development Manager, Corporate & Individual.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities (in order of importance):
Strategic Support for Fundraising (80%) Conduct prospect research and analyses;Coordinate creation of supporting materials for proposals and reports;Draft proposals at the direction of the supervisor;Develop their own donor portfolio in coordination with the Sr. Development Manager, Corporate & Individual;Coordinate internal meetings and meetings and events with funders;Coordinate completion of successful solicitations according to the team's responsibility;Enter data to Microsoft Dynamics on constituents and solicitations to ensure that information is systemically recorded and available across GMF;Monitor GMF's corporate and individual pipeline and suggest amendments accordingly to achieve set goals.Analytics and Admin (20%) Keep minutes on ongoing internal discussions;Be responsible for state registrations in the US;Be responsible for portal maintenance (e.g., SAMs);Be responsible for formal acknowledgment letters to corporate and individual funders;Support Sr. Development Manager, Corporate & Individual and Managing Director, Development;Additional duties as assigned.Additional Duties/Responsibilities (in order of importance):
Support in the compilation of GMF's annual report.Knowledge and Skills Needed: 2-3 years of professional fundraising, corporate social responsibility, government contracting, or affiliated experience;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Ability to work in integrated databases;Strong work ethic, good judgment, ability to manage own time and collaborate effectively with others;Dynamic, self-motivated and focused with a proactive approach;Willingness to travel internationally;Desire to participate in the mission of GMF.Education: Bachelor's degree required, and Master's degree is desirable.
